Full Steam Ahead

Just a little update on the progress of Book 3. As you may well know I have spent most of the past year preparing for my daughters wedding, so the book has been on hold. Well the wedding was last weekend and what a wonderful day it was.

Even though I am still surrounded by flowers, decorations and candles, I’m in no rush to move it all. I’m still on a bit of a high and all this stuff is a nice reminder of that perfect day.

So now it’s full steam ahead and I didn’t waste any time before I was opening up my computer and and double checking the story. The good news is that the 3rd story in the Billy series went off to be proof read yesterday. I shouldn’t need to wait too long to get it back because like the other two before, it’s another short story.

As for the illustrations, they are pretty much done. I only need to make one alteration and that is very small. The style of the book will be very much like the others and I really need to keep it this way because it is a series after all. I do have a couple of other stories in the pipeline and because these are not Billy related, I may even do things differently.

When the story is back from being proof read, I will get in touch with the publishers and see what they think. Fingers crossed the story will be ok and they will like it.

So that’s where I am up too. I told myself that I would have this book ready for World Book Day 2020 and thank goodness it all seems to be back on track.

I will post regular updates on this blog just to let you know where I am with it. So stay tuned 😃

PRAISE FOR BILLY'S NEW CAMERA

"This is a fantastic book for small children, short enough to keep their interest throughout. The drawings are superb with plenty of visual stimulation. The rhyming story is repetitive enabling children to join in. On the whole, a humerous, colourful story all wrapped up in this little book for pre-school children who will love all the little animals."
