Two Nursery Visits in One Week!

I had two more book readings recently and both of them in a school nursery. It was a little different for me in the fact that both visits were in the same nursery, only I was there two half days on different days of the week. This isn’t normally something I would do, but as it was local and didn’t involve much traveling I was quite happy to do this. Sometimes you find that different children attend on different days of the week, so doing it this way did mean that I got to meet all of the children and no one got left out.

It was fun and I had plenty of time to read both stories. After this I introduced them to the characters and asked them a few questions. I was quite surprised at how much these children were fascinated by my original sketchbook and paintings. These four year olds were quick to spot some of the differences between my original paintings and the finished book. I was very impressed.

I was also able to spend time helping them do one of the craft activities. They all made their own cameras, all different shapes and sizes and all very individual. All the children and staff were lovely and it was nice to meet them all.

PRAISE FOR BILLY'S NEW CAMERA

"This is a fantastic book for small children, short enough to keep their interest throughout. The drawings are superb with plenty of visual stimulation. The rhyming story is repetitive enabling children to join in. On the whole, a humerous, colourful story all wrapped up in this little book for pre-school children who will love all the little animals."
